Born in Washington, D.C., local artist Ginger Sanaie was raised in northern Virginia, and currently maintains a studio in McLean, Virginia. Her favorite subjects are landscapes, people, and animals. She has traveled widely and enjoys creating work that reflects her trips.
Ginger works in watermedia, which includes not only traditional watercolor but also acrylic, gouache, ink, casein, and watercolor pencils or crayons. Ginger has attended art classes and workshops with many well-known, contemporary artists including Don Andrews, Skip Lawrence, Gerald Brommer, Sue Archer, Mark Mehaffey, Mike Bailey, Myrna Wacknov, Frank Eber, and others.
Her work can be found in private collections throughout the United States. She has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows, and is a juried member of the Washington Watercolor Society, the Potomac Valley Watercolorists, and the Gallery Underground. She is also an active member of the Vienna Arts Society, the McLean Art Society, the Portrait Society of America, and the Arlington Artists Alliance.
